As the British Politician, Winston Churchill once said, “There is nothing wrong with change, if it is in the right direction.” This motto can be used for many topics in life, but I see this as a slogan for high school. I know there is a lot to get used to at Foothill Technology High School, and I hope I can feel comfortable with the workload.
My name is James L, and I am a freshman in high school. Like a motorcycle blasting down the highway, my life is fast paced, exhilarating, and difficult to control. But in addition to being difficult, at the same time, it is also a lot of fun.
I see myself as dedicated, hardworking, and loyal. I feel like if I don’t get a good grade on an assignment, then I need to try even harder on the next thing I work on. Although I may not get a good grade on a test, or the smartest student in the class, but I try hard and never give up.
My goals for high school include doing well at Mavericks Gym. I hope I can lose up to 10 pounds within the next year. I also hope to get A’s and B’s in all of my classes, and hopefully a 4.0. If I get a grade lower than a B+, I will be very upset with myself because that is the lowest grade I have ever gotten.
I don’t plan on spending my whole freshman year doing homework and school work, I also hope to have a strong social life throughout my whole 4 years of high school. I hope I can maintain my friendships that I have developed from Middle School, and the first 2 weeks of my freshmen year, including those who have gone to other High Schools. Going to high school makes it difficult to keep a strong hold of friends because almost every one of my friends goes to a different high school, so I am hoping I can still go to their houses over the weekends.
My goal for college is to graduate high school with a 3.5 grade point average or higher, and hopefully get accepted to go to the University of California Los Angeles. If I do not get accepted to UCLA, I will apply to the University of California San Diego. I don’t know what I want to major in college, but I am considering becoming a doctor.
I an hoping my 4 years in high school are filled with excitement and fun. You always hear how high school is one of the most difficult times in you’re life, so I want to try and make it as easy as I possibly can. I understand that this is a very difficult school, so I will be challenged mentally and physically, but I will also try my hardest to succeed.
